Best Online Breathwork Certifications and Training (2026)
The best online breathwork certifications in 2026, compared on price, hours, live or self-paced format, and whether you can certify without travel.
You can become a certified breathwork facilitator without leaving home. Many of the best-known certifications run fully online, and some always have. Whether you are looking for an online breathwork certification, a teacher training, or a breath coach course, the choice comes down to three things: what you want to teach, whether you learn better in live classes or at your own pace, and how much you want to spend.
Prices for the programs below run from about $250 to over $6,000, and they last anywhere from a few weeks to two years. Every program in our main table can be completed without travel. The ones that need an in-person week are listed separately, because “online” on a sales page does not always mean fully remote. If you are still deciding whether to train online at all, see our comparison of online vs in-person breathwork training.
Our Picks
- Best for most beginners: SOMA Breath ($497 to start, $4,497 for the Instructor Certification). Self-paced, with one-to-one mentoring at instructor level, ready-made class formats, and a large international community.
- Best value: Oxygen Advantage (€449, about $520). About 55 self-paced hours on functional breathing, with the strongest science behind it and no ongoing fees.
- Cheapest credible start: ReWild Breathwork ($497). A self-paced, trauma-aware functional course that most people finish in four to six weeks.
- Best live training on a budget: Liquid Breathwork ($1,497). Twelve weeks with a weekly live call where you practice facilitating and get feedback.
- Best for trauma-informed coaching: PAUSE Breathwork ($4,000 to $6,000). Six months of modules and weekly live calls, with heavy business training.

Self-Paced or Live?
Self-paced courses are cheaper and fit around a job, and they work well when you want to add breathing practices to work you already do: coaching, yoga, physiotherapy, or therapy. Oxygen Advantage, ReWild, HeartMath, and SOMA’s Facilitator Program all fit here.
Live training costs more, but it is where you practice guiding real people while someone experienced watches. If you plan to run sessions for strangers, especially long, emotional connected-breathing sessions, choose a program with live practice and feedback. Liquid Breathwork, BBTRS, Breathless Expeditions, NeuroDynamic Breathwork, and Transformational Breath all build it in. At the other end, Owaken charges $6,000 for video lessons with no live teaching, mentoring, or supervised practice.
Online Programs That Require Travel
These popular certifications are mostly online but include an in-person part you cannot skip:
- Wim Hof Method ($5,000-$8,000): two online modules, then a five-day in-person module, usually in Poland or Spain.
- Alchemy of Breath ($7,200): eight months online, then a graduation week in Tuscany.
- Language of Breath ($6,200): weekly live Zoom sessions and a week-long practicum in Utah.
- Integrative Breath ($4,000 tuition): about seven and a half months online with mentoring, then a seven-day retreat in Colorado.
- Psychedelic Breath (€4,500-€5,000): online preparation, then an eight-day retreat near Berlin.
- Breath Mastery ($7,560): about a year online plus one in-person week.
Budget for flights and lodging on top of tuition with all of these.
The Programs in More Detail
Functional and evidence-led
Oxygen Advantage (€449-€995) was founded by Patrick McKeown and builds on the Buteyko method: nasal breathing, CO2 tolerance, and breathing assessment. Level 1 is about 55 self-paced hours. There is no spiritual layer and no group journeys, which is why it suits sports coaches, physiotherapists, and personal trainers.
ReWild Breathwork ($497) covers breath physiology, nervous system regulation, and session design in ten self-paced modules. It is accredited by IPHM, which helps with insurance, and it leads into a 200-hour practitioner training if you want to go further.
HeartMath ($249 for the clinical course) teaches heart rate variability coherence to licensed health professionals. Buteyko training is spread across several schools, from Buteyko Clinic International (EUR 995, open to anyone) to programs for healthcare professionals only, all focused on breathing disorders such as asthma.
Music-led group journeys
SOMA Breath combines rhythmic breathing techniques with music. The $497 Facilitator Program teaches you to lead its ready-made journeys; the $4,497 Instructor Certification (95 hours) teaches you to design your own sessions, with one-to-one mentoring. It has more than 2,000 instructors worldwide. Expect to be offered higher tiers and its membership along the way.
9D Breathwork (~$5,000 plus $200 a month) is built around pre-produced audio journeys. You facilitate its sessions rather than design your own, and the monthly subscription is required for as long as you use them.
Elemental Rhythm runs a 16-week, music-led facilitator training with live classes and practice built in, from Toronto. It does not publish its price.
Trauma-informed and therapeutic
PAUSE Breathwork ($4,000-$6,000) spends six months on conscious connected breathing, the facilitator-client relationship, and building a coaching business around a personal brand. It suits coaches and wellness professionals more than clinicians.
BBTRS (~$1,890 online) teaches Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release with live online sessions and mentored practice. Its advanced levels add in-person retreats.
Breath of Gold ($6,000) covers trauma-informed circular connected breathing over about six months, with continuing education credits from Yoga Alliance, NASM, and AFAA for yoga teachers and fitness professionals.
The Embody Lab ($987-$1,187) is a 60-hour certificate in breath and movement for trauma, aimed at therapists and other clinicians who want an add-on rather than a new career.
NeuroDynamic Breathwork teaches a non-directive, Holotropic-style method live online over six months, with practicums and a cohort capped at 40.
Long, in-depth paths
Transformational Breath (about $5,450) runs all three steps online, with weekly live classes, and requires 40 documented one-to-one sessions plus case studies before you certify.
AIR School of Breathwork (from about £3,100 for the online route) is a two-year, 400-hour Rebirthing diploma with GPBA recognition and paid client sessions built in.
InnerCamp (€2,250-€2,500 online) covers five breathwork styles plus sound, cold exposure, and meditation in 300 hours over four months. It labels its January 2027 edition the last online one, so check what comes after.
Restorative Breathing (EUR 1,999 for the coach certification) is a German school now teaching in English, mostly live online.
We have not reviewed these online options yet, so check the details directly: Conscious Breathing Institute, Anders Olsson’s functional breathing school in Sweden, and 50-hour pranayama add-ons from yoga schools such as LOKA Yoga and Full Circle Yoga, which are designed for teachers who already hold a 200-hour yoga qualification.

Is an Online Breathwork Certification Legit?
A good online certification is as valid as an in-person one. No country we know of licenses breathwork facilitators, so what counts is what the training taught you, how much supervised practice you did, and whether you can get insured. Before you pay, check whether the program includes live practice with feedback, what its accreditation actually means (see our accreditation guide), and whether its certificate is accepted by an insurer where you live (see our insurance guide).
Free online breathwork courses exist, but they are taster courses rather than certifications. Our cheapest certifications guide explains what you can get for free and the cheapest options that are worth paying for.
