Elemental Rhythm is a breathwork method created by Giovanni Bartolomeo, founder of the Elemental Wellness studio in Toronto. According to the school, he developed it at the studio before 2020, combining breath, movement, music, and meditation, and launched the facilitator training when the studio closed during the 2020 lockdowns. More than 100 facilitators have taken its certification programs.

The method describes itself as a modern breathwork style grounded in pranayama, built around music, rhythm, and structured session arcs. The school offers a progressive pathway: the Breathwork Facilitator Training first, then an Integration Coaching certification, then Advanced Coaching for experienced facilitators.

In our assessment, the facilitator training is well structured for its size, with live teaching, a defined practice requirement, and session feedback. But the price is not published, and the school’s own FAQ repeats a health myth that a trauma-informed training should not be spreading.

How the Training Works

The Breathwork Facilitator Certification is a 16-week online program of more than 50 hours, in three phases:

Phase 1: Live weekend immersion. Two live online days introducing the method’s frameworks: “Breakthrough” and “Flow” session structures, music, BPM, cueing, and pacing, and two proprietary frameworks called E.P.I.C. Awareness and Timeline Weaving.

Phase 2: Mentored integration and practice (weeks 1 to 16). About two to four hours a week, including:

  • Eight live mentored calls (about 12 hours)
  • Six practice sessions guiding fellow trainees and four with friends, family, or community members
  • Six sessions as a breather for peers, for about 24 hours of live practice in 90-minute sessions
  • One full recorded session submitted for personalized feedback
  • About four hours of self-paced coursework, including a trauma-informed breathwork course

Phase 3: Certification and ongoing support. Certification, business and marketing guidance, bi-weekly community calls, and access to the facilitator community.

Graduates are certified to facilitate one-to-one and group sessions. The school says certification is “not simply attendance-based” but reflects demonstrated competency.

Ten guided practice sessions plus a reviewed recording is a reasonable practice requirement for a 16-week online course. It is lighter than programs requiring 25 to 40 documented client sessions, like Breath Mastery or Transformational Breath, but more than many short online certifications.

Elemental Rhythm Cost

The training page does not show a price. Prospective students are directed to book a discovery call. A third-party training guide lists Elemental Rhythm at $1,497 per level or $2,497 for two levels, but we could not confirm those figures on the school’s own site, so treat them as indicative only.

We would like to see the price on the page. A discovery call is a reasonable way to answer questions, but buyers should be able to compare costs without one. Our breathwork training cost breakdown covers the programs that do publish.

Accreditation

The school says its facilitator training is accredited through the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), giving graduates a pathway to IICT accreditation in breathwork. IICT is mainly known as an insurance and membership body for complementary therapists, so this is useful for getting insured but is not a breathwork-specific training standard like the GPBA’s. See our accreditation guide.

The Science Claims

The facilitator training page says Elemental Rhythm “bridges evidence-based science with embodied practice and intuitive awareness” and covers how breathing affects CO2 levels and the nervous system. That is reasonable.

The school’s FAQ is not. It says: “breathwork makes your body more alkaline. Since disease can only thrive in an acidic environment, you’re creating an internal environment supportive of health.” Fast breathing does temporarily raise blood pH by lowering carbon dioxide, which is why it causes tingling and cramping. But the idea that disease “can only thrive in an acidic environment” is a long-debunked alkaline-health myth, and the body tightly regulates blood pH. A training that teaches trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware facilitation should not be telling the public this. We found no research on Elemental Rhythm as a method (see our research by method guide).

Pros and Cons

What works well

  • Clear structure - A defined 16-week path with phases, frameworks, and session arcs.
  • Practice and feedback - Ten guided practice sessions and a reviewed recording.
  • Music and pacing skills - Detailed teaching on music, BPM, and cueing for group sessions.
  • Ongoing community - Bi-weekly calls and business support after certification.

What doesn't

  • Hidden price - No cost on the training page, only a discovery call.
  • Health myth in the FAQ - The "disease only thrives in acid" claim is false.
  • Light trauma content - About four hours of self-paced coursework covers the facilitator and trauma courses.
  • Insurance-body accreditation - IICT helps with insurance but is not a breathwork training standard.

Elemental Rhythm Market Comparisons

Elemental Rhythm vs. SOMA Breath

SOMA Breath is also music-driven and protocol-based, with a large global network and a published entry price from $999. Elemental Rhythm is smaller, with more emphasis on session arcs and live mentored practice. Choose SOMA for a bigger brand and a published price. Choose Elemental Rhythm if you want closer mentoring and a structured practice requirement.

Elemental Rhythm vs. Breathless Expeditions

Breathless Expeditions runs a 10-week live training at a published A$3,997 online, with a money-back guarantee and strong independent reviews. Both blend multiple influences into a practical, business-ready program. Choose Breathless for published pricing, more live sessions, and a guarantee. Choose Elemental Rhythm if its music-led style and session frameworks appeal more.

Elemental Rhythm vs. 9D Breathwork

9D Breathwork also relies on music, but with pre-produced audio journeys and a $200 monthly subscription. Elemental Rhythm teaches you to build sessions yourself and has no subscription that we found. Choose 9D if you want a ready-made audio product. Choose Elemental Rhythm if you want to learn to design and lead sessions yourself.

Who This Is For

  • Group class facilitators - You want to lead music-driven breathwork classes with a clear session structure.
  • Coaches and wellness professionals - You want to add breathwork and possibly continue to the coaching certification.
  • Online learners - You need a part-time, fully online format.

Who Should Pass

Elemental Rhythm Verdict

Elemental Rhythm’s facilitator training is better designed than its marketing suggests. It has a clear structure, live mentored calls, a defined set of practice sessions, and individual feedback on a recorded session, all within a part-time online format. For people who want to lead music-driven group sessions, that is a solid foundation.

But the price is hidden behind a discovery call, the trauma content is brief, and the school’s FAQ repeats a health myth about acidity and disease. That last point matters most: a training is a model for how its graduates will talk to clients.

Bottom line: A reasonable, structured option for people who want to lead music-led breathwork sessions online or in groups. Get the full price in writing, and do not repeat the school’s claims about alkalinity to your clients.
