Breathwork Certification Annual Fees and Renewals (2026)

Which breathwork certifications charge after you qualify, from Wim Hof renewals to 9D at $200 a month, plus the costs every facilitator pays.

The price on a breathwork training’s sales page is what it costs to get certified. It is often not what it costs to stay certified. Some programs charge a yearly renewal to keep using their name, some charge a monthly subscription, and a few hold the terms back until after you have enrolled.

Over five years, those fees can add more to your bill than the training itself. Here is what the programs we have reviewed charge after you qualify, which ones charge nothing, and the costs every breathwork facilitator carries whichever training they choose.

Ongoing Fees by Program

Program Ongoing fee Five years of fees What happens if you stop
9D Breathwork $200/month $12,000 You lose access to the journey library and the 9D name
Wim Hof Method Yearly recertification (~€499) ~€2,500 Your certificate expires and you lose the right to use the trademark
Language of Breath $350/year from year two $1,400 You leave the Collective (mentoring, referrals, community)
Psychedelic Breath €22/month licence €1,320 You lose the licence to teach under the name
Transformational Breath Renewal mentioned, terms not published Unknown Not published
Clarity Breathwork $65/year + $85 setup $410 You lose access to the practitioner portal
SOMA Breath Optional memberships and upgrades Depends on what you buy Nothing required

Five-year figures are simply the published fee multiplied out, so they assume prices stay the same.

These programs charged no recurring fee in our research: Oxygen Advantage, Alchemy of Breath, PAUSE Breathwork, Holotropic Breathwork, InnerCamp, Integrative Breath, Shamanic Breathwork, Breath Mastery, HeartMath, Owaken, Liquid Breathwork, and the AIR School of Breathwork. Fees can change, so confirm in writing before you enroll.

The Programs That Charge, and Why

9D Breathwork: $200 a month

9D is the most expensive program to stay in by a wide margin. After certification you pay $200 a month for access to its pre-produced journey library, the community, and the right to use the 9D name. Stop paying and you lose all three, which in practice means you can no longer run 9D sessions. There is also an affiliate layer: facilitators who recruit other facilitators earn 10% of their monthly subscription.

At $200 a month you need two to three private sessions every month just to cover the fee before you earn anything. That is a business model where the facilitator licenses a product rather than owning a skill. Our 9D review covers the full picture.

Wim Hof Method: a certificate that expires every year

The Wim Hof Method’s 2026 instructor manifesto is explicit. Your certificate is granted “for a fixed term of one year” and “has to be renewed yearly, failing which the Certificate will automatically expire.” The certificate is what gives you the right to use the Wim Hof Method trademarks in your marketing. The 2026 recertification is listed on Wim Hof’s own site at 499, which matches the roughly €499 yearly cost in our Wim Hof review.

Two more terms are worth knowing. The manifesto lists a 10% service fee on activities sold through the Wim Hof Method platform, and it includes non-competition undertakings about which other brands you may work with. Read both before you sign.

Language of Breath: $350 a year, optional in practice

Language of Breath charges $350 a year from the second year to stay in its Collective, which includes monthly calls with Jesse Coomer, quarterly group sessions, an annual reunion retreat, and his referral network. It is closer to a professional community membership than a licence. Whether it is worth it depends on how much you use the mentoring and referrals.

Psychedelic Breath: €22 a month

Psychedelic Breath charges a €22 monthly licence (€264 a year) to teach under its name. That is low for a branded method, and it is one of the cheaper programs to maintain.

Transformational Breath: renewal exists, terms unknown

Transformational Breath publishes its tuition in full, but not what happens after certification. Its course pages mention alumni returning “to renew your certification,” and we found no published renewal fee or interval. Ask before you enroll.

What You Pay Whichever Training You Choose

Even with a no-fee certification, a working facilitator has ongoing costs. These are the main ones.

Insurance. In the US, breathwork facilitator insurance runs around $150 to $170 a year. In the UK it starts from about £47, and the AIR School of Breathwork quotes about £65 a year for its graduates through its insurer. Studios and venues usually ask for proof. Our breathwork insurance guide has the providers.

Professional membership. Optional, but common. The Global Professional Breathwork Alliance charges $75 a year for its certified practitioner tier and $50 a year for its ethically compliant tier, each with a $20 application fee. Our accreditation guide explains what those tiers mean.

Supervision and mentoring. Some schools include it, others charge per session. Integrative Breath’s required mentor sessions cost $125 each, and AIR offers individual supervision at £50 an hour, alongside free monthly group supervision. After you qualify, paid supervision is optional but useful, especially in your first year of client work.

Music for group sessions. Many breathwork formats rely on music. Consumer streaming subscriptions are generally licensed for personal use, not for paid group events, so check what licence covers music in your sessions in your country, or use music that is cleared for commercial use.

Booking and platform fees. If you sell through a platform, it will usually take a cut. The Wim Hof Method’s own platform charges 10%, for example.

The Real Cost Over Five Years

Here is how the picture changes when you add five years of program fees to the tuition, using the figures in our reviews:

Program Tuition Five years of program fees Total
Oxygen Advantage €345 - €1,099 €0 €345 - €1,099
Psychedelic Breath €4,500 - €5,000 €1,320 €5,820 - €6,320
Alchemy of Breath $5,800 - $6,900 $0 $5,800 - $6,900
Language of Breath $6,200 $1,400 $7,600
Wim Hof Method ~$4,300 ~€2,500 ~$7,200
9D Breathwork ~$5,000 $12,000 ~$17,000

Insurance, travel, and the costs above come on top for everyone. Ongoing fees are not automatically a bad sign, since some of them buy real mentoring or a brand that brings you clients. But the five-year number is the one to compare, not the sticker price. For tuition and travel costs across every program, see our breathwork training cost breakdown.

What to Ask Before You Enroll

  1. Is there any recurring fee after certification, and what exactly does it pay for?
  2. Does my certificate expire if I stop paying?
  3. Can I keep teaching the techniques under my own name if I leave?
  4. Are there platform fees, required equipment, or non-compete terms?
  5. Which parts of the ongoing fee are optional?

A school that answers these in writing before you pay is one you can plan around. One that answers them only after you enroll has told you something important.
