This is the program where the sticker price is most misleading. The upfront certification costs around $5,000 (exact pricing isn’t published; you have to book a sales call). After that, you pay $200/month for access to the journey library, community, and the right to use the 9D name.
That subscription is mandatory. Stop paying and you lose access to everything. At $2,400/year, this is the most expensive ongoing commitment in breathwork.
What’s included: Certification, audio journey library, community access, business training. Hidden costs: The $200/month never ends. First-year total is roughly $7,400+. By year three, you’ve spent $12,200+. Professional audio equipment is also recommended.

Wim Hof Method
Cost: $5,000 - $8,000 (first year)
The training has three modules:

The most expensive and most rigorous option. Founded by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, this is a multi-year apprenticeship, not a quick certification.
Requirements: seven modules ($1,150 - $1,350 each), a two-week closing intensive, ten hours of consultation with a certified practitioner, plus participation in ten HB workshops.

What Drives the Price Difference?
The gap between a $399 certification and a $25,000 one isn’t random. Here’s what you’re paying for (or not):
Format. Online programs are cheaper. In-person retreats and residentials cost more because someone is paying for the venue, the food, and the staff. Hybrid programs (Wim Hof, Alchemy of Breath) split the difference.
Duration and depth. A 5-hour program teaches you a technique. A 2-year program transforms how you hold space. The longer the training, the more supervised practice, mentorship, and personal process work you get.
Ongoing fees vs. one-time payment. This is the biggest hidden variable. A $5,000 program with no recurring fees is cheaper over three years than a $5,000 program with $200/month on top. Always calculate your total cost over 2-3 years, not just the sticker price.
Brand licensing. Wim Hof (~€499/year) and 9D ($200/month) charge you to use their name and access their materials. Oxygen Advantage, Alchemy of Breath, and Holotropic charge once and let you use the branding.

Best ROI in breathwork if you work with athletes, health professionals, or corporate clients. SOMA Breath’s Facilitator Program ($497) is the fastest way into a large community with ready-made session materials, though it only covers leading SOMA’s own journeys.
$1,000 - $3,000: Liquid Breathwork ($1,497 online, $1,997 - $2,497 in person) for a small, transparent training with a gentle, breather-led method.
$3,000 - $6,000: PAUSE Breathwork ($4,000 - $6,000) if you want trauma-informed conscious connected breathing with strong business training. SOMA’s Instructor Certification ($4,497) if you want to design your own music-led group sessions inside a large brand.
$6,000+: Alchemy of Breath ($7,200, about $9,000 - $10,500 all-in) if you want deeper personal process work and a residential week. Holotropic Breathwork ($12,000 - $25,000 all-in) if you want the deepest therapeutic training and are willing to invest 2-3 years. This is the gold standard for transpersonal breathwork, but the time and money commitment is serious.
Avoid if budget-conscious: 9D Breathwork’s $200/month subscription makes it one of the most expensive long-term commitments, even though the upfront cost looks competitive.
The Real Question
The cost of training is the smaller financial decision. The bigger one is what it takes to build a sustainable practice afterward. A $399 certification is worthless if you can’t attract clients. A $25,000 training pays for itself if it gives you the skills and credibility to fill workshops.
Before choosing based on price alone, figure out who you want to serve, how you want to work, and what credibility matters in that market. The right program is the one that gets you there, not the cheapest or the most expensive.
